Paul Akister, from Mel B's Boys category, has become the latest act to leave the singing competition. Akister found himself in the bottom two facing Over 25 Jay James after the show adopted a 'MJ vs. Queen' theme for the performances. The singer, who was turned down in the last series by judge Louis Walsh, said: 'I can't talk.' when quizzed by Dermot O'Leary on how he was feeling. The hopeful's mentor Mel B said: 'Are you kidding me? He is incredible, it's wrong, it's wrong.' This evening's result show saw Sam Smith and One Direction perform on stage before Akister was revealed to have had the fewest votes from the public when Walsh opted to take the vote to deadlock and was booted off the show. The X-Factor continues next weekend on ITV. |

Paul was one of my fav's and one of the best singers in the show! his voice was soulful amazing strong key and he's really sweet guy why the hell did nobody support him! i had a feeling he could be in danger but i wasn't 100 % sure if i'd of known would voting of made a difference if i voted extra for him ? i doubt it so why should i waste my money on a show thats a fix and a joke when talented people like Paul get their dreams shattered the poor guy was soo upset he couldn't speak ![]() and rightly so Mel B was peed off i actually thought Jay was popular im surprised he was in the bottom please for the love of god get rid of stereo kicks, stevi and only the young they're the weakest!! i cant believe they're more popular than paul & jay thats BULL SH** both groups have been in the sing off so i thought they lost their popularity so what's going on!!!!!! why are they safe every week now? ![]() ![]() |

Stereokicks were bottom last week so got the rebound vote, plus the 'aww they handled it well' after the stage dive...the judges made a massive fuss of it Not sure how OTY got through, they were atrocious and I would have loved to see the back of them this week Feel really bad for Paul...he can hardly even speak on xtra factor ![]() |

I dont tend to bhuy into the conspiracy theories too much (have believed some though) but this week it seemed obvious that Louis did what he was told to do...given that he has licked pauls arse continually then voted against him |

Never cared for him but I always preferred him to Jay. Plus his reaction made me feel pitiful towards him tbh. You can really tell how much he wanted to stay :/ |

I just watched the results show now, Paul totally outsung Jay, I don't think it was even close. Louis is clueless. |

I had a feeling it was his time to go but I am really quite upset. Especially since he is from my hometown and I know what a nice guy he is. At least he is coming home and we are going to put a proper welcome back on for him. I don't like jay so I was genuinely gutted and yes I did vote for Paul. I'm sad |

The special one must admit, Louis looked very umcomfortable. But stuborn when he was told to make his choose. Much business like. I don't comprehend how they come to such decision. For tour? I think Paul will sell more tickets for that voice alone, let alone how he is looking. I am coming to think something happening backstage where Paul disagree with a Cowell thing. The Cowell did not like him since last few weeks. I am thinking like this. |

I'm not really sure how Louis taking it to deadlock differs from Mel B taking it to deadlock last week. |

I'm hoping they end up laying Paul go on the tour anyway. I have been to the tour one year when they did a final 9, so it is possible. Either way I'm gonna get to see Paul soon as he is coming home |
